Parejo pleased with penalty redemption
Dani Parejo put his penalty miss against Ajax behind him with a goal from the spot against Deportivo Alavés, helping Valencia CF to victory at Mestalla.
Speaking after the game, the VCF captain explained how he saw the Matchday 8 win.
The game
"We're seeing that there are no easy matches and it's difficult to win. We've gone four games in LaLiga without a defeat, with two draws and two wins, and we go into the international break with a very good feeling. We're happy with the job we've done, having only two days rest since the last game; we could have played on the Sunday, but we were put on Saturday. Despite this, we competed until the end and we deserved to win."
Winning at home
"We've played many games in few days, and were coming off a painful defeat in the Champions League at home. The 0-3 loss to Ajax was very unfair on us, and today the team went back out there with desire, hunger and intensity, fighting to win the game from the opening minute."
The penalty
"It was a clear penalty. I'm very happy, because after a game in which you have missed a penalty, doubt can creep in, but I've always believed in myself, in my way of playing, in my personality... We're happy because we took an important three points."

Early misses
"In the first half there were two balls in dangerous situations that I missed, which shouldn't happen. It's probably because I relaxed and didn't see the opposition player. It happens, but I kept asking for it because that's my personality. We're happy with the three points."
The international break
"We have to go game-by-game and not look too much beyond that. We have 15 days in which to rest, but then we have games every three days again. Winning two in a row makes us very happpy, but we have to keep our feet on the ground and be aware that there is a long way to go. We weren't as bad as people said before, and neither are we incredible now. Valencia CF are rising up."
